NOT WAVING, BUT DROWNING
materialises the experience of Indian refugees during their arrest and detention by the harbour police in Zeebrugge, Belgium. Within the tense, haunted context of the harbour and the seaside, and together with them, we slowly lose all sense of time and place. Without investigating their past or their future, the human traffic organisations or the Belgian legislation, Elias Grootaers transgresses into the timelessness in which our society ‘imprisons’ people without papers.

THE SHADOW WORLD PITCHES AT IDFA FORUM
The new feature documentary of internationally acclaimed filmmaker-artist Johan Grimonprez has been selected for the central pitch at IDFA Forum. The project has the honour to open the Forum on 19 Nov 2012.

LIEVEN CORTHOUTS AT SOURCES 2
Emergency Exit, the new feature documentary directed by Lieven Corthouts, has been selected for the SOURCES 2 Script Development workshop. This European training program offers Lieven to work intensively on the development of his film in a non-competitive environment. Together with producer Emmy Oost, he will attend this seven-day session in Graz (Austria), from 18th to 26th November 2012.

Anna Luyten and Tim De Keersmaecker invited at Open Doek
Journalist Anna Luyten and filmmaker Tim De Keersmaecker have been invited by the film festival Open Doek to share their experiences during a panel on immigration on the island Lampedusa. In cooperation with Amnesty International and De Warande, Open Doek (Turnhout, BE) brings together various experts within the frame of their joined project On the move. The panel will take place on Sunday 29 April at 11h in Utopolis.
